Midwest ANSYS User Group

Who

The Midwest ANSYS User Group is dedicated to users of the ANSYS suite of simulation software who are located in the midwest region of the US. This group is generally comprised of existing ANSYS users with varying levels of expertise, but anyone new to FEA or ANSYS is welcome to attend. Likewise, ANSYS users outside of the "midwest" region of the US are welcome to attend also. SimuTech Group - Midwest takes care of all the organizational and practical details so attendees may simply show up.

What

Our purpose is to provide the means whereby users from many varied companies, industries, backgrounds, and levels of expertiese can come together to contribute and receive technical knowledge and recommendations related to using and applying ANSYS tools in real world engineering applications. We are not just a bunch of diehard "structural" analysts, but rather, aim to represent all areas of simulation in which ANSYS tools are used. In addition to covering all types of numerical simulation, presentations may focus on particular industries, technical aspects of the software, application scenarios, and occaisonally "previews" of new developments in ANSYS products.

Although the group is "administered" by the local ANSYS Channel Partner, SimuTech Group, this is not a sales related gathering. SimuTech's role is that of a facilitator and organizer. Presentations are primarily technical in nature and contributed mainly by local users. See the agenda for a list of presentations scheduled for our next gathering. If you have something you would like to present, or a topic you would like to see a presentation on, please contact us and let us know.

When

We generally meet bi-anually. Check the agenda for a schedule of the next meeting.

Where

Our meetings take place in the Chicagoland area. Check the nextmeeting page for specifics.

Why

These meetings give all participants a chance to network with other users and see how they are implementing and using ANSYS tools to solve engineering challenges. By spreading our collective knowledge and experience around to others, we all benefit.
